iTERO® DIGITAL IMPRESSION SYSTEM
CONVENTIONAL VS DIGITAL IMPRESSIONS
No more goop, gagging, or discomfort. Using an iTero scanner, your orthodontist can take a highly accurate digital impression of your teeth and jaw. The new technology eliminates the tray and putty impressions, where the experience is comparable to stuffing a big wad of gum in your mouth. The old technique is incredibly unpleasant and frequently results in taking multiple rounds of impressions that can be rejected, broken, or misplaced. The iTero scanner ensures a more accurate impression from the start, resulting in improved treatment and more comfortable patient experience. Digital impressions also give you the ability to see your teeth instantly in 3D, improving communication during the consultation and treatment process.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The iTero scanner digitally captures the structure of the teeth and gums using the latest optical technology. The scanner is a compact, hand-held wand. Once your orthodontist begins the scanning process, it can be stopped and started as many times as necessary.
Your mouth is scanned with a radiation-free laser, and in as little as two to three minutes, the laser renders a digitally perfect, 3D impression of your teeth and soft tissue structures. Through digital software, you’ll then be able to follow the progress of the scans, including a 3D model of your teeth on our computer screen. The iTero scanner can be used for any orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign®.
DENTAL MONITORING
Dental Monitoring is a system that utilizes cutting-edge technology to allow you to communicate with your orthodontist via an app by doing weekly scans of your progress at home! This incredible innovation uses the ScanBox, a mouth scanner, and your phone to collect data on your tooth and jaw positioning. The information is sent to our office to be analyzed, and our orthodontist can make a recommendation based on the scans and photos that you took yourself. Your visits are limited to those that are absolutely necessary for you to come into our office.
Dental Monitoring allows you to spend less time driving back and forth from the orthodontist’s office for some monitoring check-ups that usually take less than 20 minutes. At Thabet Orthodontics, we know that people are busy, but we do not want this to get in the way of perfecting your smile. Forget taking your teen out of school early for a retainer check or rushing to an appointment during your lunch break, with Dental Monitoring you can do some of your orthodontic check-ups using the device in the palm of your hands. CARRIERE® MOTION 3D APPLIANCE
The Carriere Motion 3D Class II and Class III Appliances are orthodontic devices developed to correct your bite without having to remove any of your permanent teeth that have grown in incorrectly.
CARRIERE® MOTION 3D CLASS II APPLIANCE
This appliance works to push your upper teeth back, working to correct your bite before you receive braces. This appliance reduces the need for extractions, replaces the need for headgear, and improves the shape of your profile altogether.
- First, your orthodontist will create an anchor point with a passive lower lingual arch. The Carriere Motion bar is then attached to your upper teeth on one or both sides of the mouth.
- An elastic band is attached from the upper bar(s) to lower back molars, and these should be worn at all times except for when you are eating or brushing your teeth.
- When your elastics are worn correctly, your bite can be corrected quickly and efficiently, depending on the severity of your case.
- When the Carriere Motion bars are removed, the braces are bonded, or your aligners are delivered to finish correcting your bite and aligning your teeth to the desired position.
CARRIERE® MOTION 3D CLASS III APPLIANCE
The Carriere Motion 3D Class III Appliance is a minimally invasive appliance intended to treat Class III malocclusions without extractions, facemasks, or orthognathic surgery. This appliance provides exceptional results while maintaining the patient’s natural features.
- First, your orthodontist will create an anchor point bonded on the upper molar and an Essix retainer for the upper arch. The Carriere Motion Appliance is then attached to the lower teeth on both sides.
- An elastic band is attached from the lower bar to the upper back molars and should always be worn except when eating and brushing your teeth.
